In the Spring of 2024 we were able to complete the installation of clean water into the two structures at the Kaserem Christian Medical Clinic. This is a project we have worked hard to fundraise for and design in a sustainable and high-quality manner. The completed project includes a shower with hot water. A UV filtration system for drinking water and two sinks. Our local engineer was also able to install a toilet and a septic system. While there still is an outhouse behind the building, this will offer a modern option for patients and staff.
Immediately we heard good things. Mothers delivering babies have been especially grateful. Staff can easily wash their hands. The morning chore to bring water in has been taken off the table.
Not only will this improve morale, but we believe it will reduce infection rates and improve the overall quality of care that can be provided at this amazing and critical clinic! Thank you for your support.
This project was possible through your generosity. And we were honored at the turn out for our first ever Oyster Roast at Bowen's Island in February. Immediately after that event we were able to distribute the development grant to complete this project and get water flowing into the clinic.
